I'M HERE FOR YOU
in the fight against Alzheimer's
SHERRY BEASLEY
Alzheimer's & Dementia Healthcare Advocate
Who am I? I am a mother, daughter, college graduate, caregiver, entrepreneur and so much more. Before beginning this journey, I asked myself, “What do I have to offer that is different from what everyone else is offering?” My answer to myself was and is a commitment to the community.
Blacks are the number one suffers from Alzheimer’s disease in America and women are 2 times more likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease than breast cancer. Statistics like that are enough to scare anyone, but I bring with me more than 20 years of training and service as a mental health professional and more than 30 years as a caregiver.

I received my BA at the age of 40 and had my last child at the age of 42 for a total of 5 children. My commitment and dedication to empowering and changing the way we as a community service one another is only surpassed by my desire to see a change and improve on our already rich legacy.
Fredrick Douglas once said, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” I add that the progress is in the struggle; the victory is in cohesion."
